Easy French Quarter Muffuletta Sandwich
Years ago, when Whit and I were still newlyweds, we went to visit the French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. My father-in-law's cousin, Paul, lived there and was kind enough to act as our tour guide. Paul showed us to all the hot spots in New Orleans including the best place to get a Muffuletta sandwich, which I loved. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but I do have the recipe. One thing I love about this recipe is that the ingredients are readily available.
Ingredients:
2 slices Genoa Salami
1 Slice Bologna
2 slices Ham
2 slices Provolone
Muffuletta Bun (Italian Bread)
Mayonnaise (liberal)
Mustard
Signature Olive Salad Mix (Tillen Farms by Stonewall Kitchen Muffuletta Olive Salad)
Black pepper
Olive oil
Directions:
Mix mayo & mustard and work into both sides of bun. Spread olive salad mix on bottom half of bun. Liberally coat both sides of bun with black pepper. Cut meat & cheese slices into strips and layer over bun. Close bun and liberally wipe olive oil on top and sides of bun. Bake in 350° oven for approximately 20 min or until top is golden brown. Cut in half or quarter with serrated knife.
Bon Appetit!
